Watch: After a match winning knock this is why MS Dhoni was the first one to hit the nets for practice

Former India captain MS Dhoni on Thursday was the first one to hit the nets for practice session. Dhoni started practicing at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground ahead of the third and final match of the three match ODI series. The series is leveled at 1-1 after India won the second ODI by 6 wickets.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video from their official Twitter handle where the 37-year-old can be seen working just on his defensive shots. BCCI wrote, “@msdhoni looking in great touch here at the nets session ahead of the 3rd and final ODI against Australia. What's your prediction for the game?”


 

Virat Kohli’s 39th ODI hundred in the process also proved to be a match winning knock. The Indian skipper scored an amazing 104 runs with vice-captain Rohit Sharma scoring 43 runs, the second highest in the Indian team. MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik batted till the end to take India to the victory line.

Earlier in the Day, Australia managed to put up a healthy total of 298 for 9 on board with Shaun Marsh hitting a fabulous century and Glenn Maxwell playing a cameo in between. Marsh hit 131 runs while Maxwell scored 48 runs. Bhuveneshwar Kumar was best among the Indian lot, taking 4 wickets in 10 overs giving away 45 runs. Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets and Jadeja took 1.
