A video of a sensational catch is going viral on social media five months after the match is over. The catch is from Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament match between Maharashtra and Railways where Indian cricketer Rahul Tripathi can be seen taking an extraordinary catch to help his team win the game.

When Railways batsman Manjeet Singh got the ball soaring over the bowler, 28-year old Rahul Tripathi leaped to pluck it mid-air but was already over the boundary rope and was about land any moment. Within a fraction of seconds, he relayed the ball to Divyang Himganekar standing at the boundary with a back-handed throw to leave his teammates and everyone on social media awed.

English sports journalist Mark Austin shared the video on social media recently. Austin captioned the post, "Catches don’t get more sensational than this (wait for slo-mo)."

Rahul Tripathi made his debut for Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League before joining Rajasthan Royals in 2018. Rahul plays for Maharashtra in first-class cricket and was the highest run-scorer for his team in 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, with 504 runs in eight matches.

Rahul was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, home of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Rahul has shared the dressing room with Dhoni in 2017 when they both were playing for Rising Pune Supergiants. Pune reached finals but lost to Mumbai Indians in that season.
