Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been such a magnificent player in the cricketing world that records keep shattering during most of his innings. During the recently concluded ODI series against Australia, Virat Kohli arrived at another landmark. The Indian skipper broke MS Dhoni’s record of fastest to 5,000 runs by a captain in ODI.

Following the second ODI in Rajkot, the 31-year-old stood just 17 runs behind MS Dhoni’s milestone but did not take much time to shatter it in the third ODI in Bengaluru.

MS Dhoni scored 5,000 runs as captain in 127 innings but Kohli managed the feat in just 82 innings. This demonstrates the exceptional consistency Kohli has displayed after taking over from MS Dhoni.
