Virat Kohli hikes endorsement fee to Rs 5 crore per day

After winning a nail-biting Test series against Australia and having a successful session, skipper Virat Kohli has hiked his endorsement fee to Rs 5 crore per day ahead of tenth edition of Indian Premier League for new contracts.

According to the Economic Times report, two officials associated with different brands have confirmed the reports of hike in Kohli's fees.

The increment in the fees has launched Kohli to the top spot as the amount is highest charged by any celebrity in the country.

The report suggested that PepsiCo's agreement with Kohli has come up for renewal as it ends on April 30. Reportedly, the company is talks with the Indian cricketer regarding the renewal of the contract and fee hike.

"Virat is contracted with Pepsi until April 30. We are currently negotiating a contract extension with the Pepsi-Co team," ET quoted Cornerstone Sport (agency that represents Kohli) CEO Bunty Sajdeh as saying.

"Pepsi has been one of our longest and most fruitful associations until now and hopefully we will collaborate with them for years to come," he added.
