Sachin Tendulkar who celebrated his birthday on April 24 got wishes from all over the world. Among the well wishers was his old friend Vinod Kambli, who dedicated a song to his childhood mate. Sachin Tendulkar took no time to notice his friend’s effort and replied to him.

Sachin however took a jibe at his friend Kambli about his age. Sachin wrote, "Thanks for the wishes, @vinodkambli349. The song is great but I am still wondering why are your eyebrows still black when your beard is white."

The two rose to fame when they had put up a historic partnership of 664 runs with individual scores of 326 not out (Tendulkar) and 349 not out (Kambli) for Shardashram Vidyamandir against St Xavier's High School in the Harris Shield semi-final in February 1988.

Sachin Tendulkar currently mentors Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and is also a member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Recently Sachin was slapped with a notice by BBCI’s ombudsman DK Jain after a member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) complained over his conflict of interest. BCCI’s ethics committee has asked Sachin to reply in writing. Along with Sachin, VVS Laxman was also served with a notice over his mentoring Sunrisers Hyderabad.

A BCCI official said that Sachin’s association with Mumbai Indians is non-financial and his membership with CAC is also without any salary or perks. Sachin was part of the team that decided Ravi Shastri would be Indian men’s team coach.
