The great Sachin Tendulkar achieved a fantastic milestone on this day in 1995
On this day in 1995, Sachin Tendulkar became the eight Indian to score 3,000 One-Day International runs and also hit his fourth century in the process. Sachin Tendulkar achieved this milestone in 76 innings as India beat Sri Lanka by eight wickets in a Asia Cup match. Tendulkar achieved the milestone fifteen days before his 22nd birthday.
International Cricket Council took to their official Twitter handle to share the news as they wrote, “On This Day in 1995, @sachin_rt hit his fourth ODI century, against Sri Lanka in Sharjah, and became the youngest man to reach the milestone of 3,000 ODI runs! It was 15 days before his 22nd birthday.”

As far as the match is concerned, Tendulkar scored a fantastic century as he remained unbeaten at 112 off 107 balls. India won the match with 100 balls to spare as they reached the target of 202 runs in just 33.2 overs.
Sachin Tendulkar retired from all forms of cricket on November 16, 2013 as he got a guard of honour from players of India and West Indies, while playing his last Test match in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Sachin scored a total of 15,921 runs from 200 Test matches at an average of 53.78 and has 18,426 runs in ODI cricket from 463 matches at an average of 44.83. Sachin has 100 international centuries to his name, 51 in Test cricket and 49 in ODIs.
From a batsman of Sachin’s caliber it is not expected to perform with the ball, but he also scalped 154 wickets in ODI cricket and 43 in Test cricket.
