Shoaib Malik joins illustrious T20 list alongside Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum

Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has undoubtly lived up to his standards of being an all-rounder. He has produced some magnificent memories in the form of records.

Shoaib Malik joins the elite list in the T20 of becoming the fourth batsman in the cricketing world to reach 9,000 runs mark in the shortes format of the game. The all-rounder attained the milestone during Guyana Amazon Warriors’ win against Barbados Tridents in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Shoaib Malik who is well known for playing some big shots has scored 32 runs off just 19 deliveries as Warriors’ beat Barbados Trident by 30 runs and sailed into the finals.

Malik has scored 9,014 runs in 356 T20 games. Despite being known for his batting more, he has claimed 142 wickets to his name.

West Indies legend Chris Gayle holds the record of highest run scorer in T20s. Gayle has knocked 13,015 T20 runs in 394 matches. Next on the list is New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum with 9,922 runs in 370 matches and then Kieron Pollard with 9757 runs in 489 matches.

In his International career, Shoaib Malik has featured in 35 Tests, 287 ODIs and 111 T20I for Pakistan.
