Shahid Afridi reveals the reason behind Pakistan's early exit from the World Cup 2019

Former Pakistan all rounder and skipper Shahid Afridi feels that Pakistan cricket team failed to capitalise of the fact that they had more time than any other international team to get accustomed to the conditions in England ahead of the World Cup 2019.

The men in green played one T20 International and a five match ODI series against England before the ICC world Cup 2019 commenced.

Shahid Afridi noted that the national team should have put to use that time and do all the necessary composition and work out their team combination and gameplan for the World Cup 2019.

Pakistan cricket team fell harrowingly short of making it to the semi finals of the World Cup 2019 as New Zealand ousted them for the final place in the last four since they had a better net run rate.

“Pakistan failed to take advantage [of] the fact that they [were] the only team after the hosts who were in England well before the start of the mega event and they had ample time to adjust and prepare a set combination,” Afridi said.

Pakistan won five matches and lost three games and their match against Sir Lanka was abandoned due to rain.
