Indian limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma did not get a place in the Test team for West Indies series. Sharma was included in the squad for Test matches but did not get a chance in the playing XI. Indian opener KL Rahul got a chance instead of Rohit Sharma.
Sharma liked a controversial post on social media criticising KL Rahul. The post compared KL Rahul’s Test record with that of Sharma’s. KL Rahul started well in the first match but couldn’t convert his knock into something big. In the second match, Rahul was dismissed for just 13 runs in the first innings.
Fans and cricket pundits are saying that Virat Kohli should have given Sharma a chance considering his brilliant form recently. Sharma was India’s key run-scorer in the recently concluded World Cup where he top-scored with 648 runs including five centuries from nine matches. Sharma broke many records in the World Cup including the most number of centuries in a single edition.
Sharma made his Test debut in 2013 against West Indies where he scored 177 runs in his very first match.
