Nepal cricketer Anjali Chand on Monday created history by bringing together the best bowling performance in a women’s T20I with bowling figures of 6/0 in a match against Maldives at the 13th South Asian Games.

This is the first time in the history of any international match that a bowler has scalped six wickets without conceding a single run.

Nepal won the game with 10 wickets to spare, reaching 17 for no loss in 0.5 overs.

Previously the record belonged to Malaysia’s Mas Elysa, who had taken six wickets giving away just three runs from her four overs against China in January this year.

The 24-year old dismissed six batswomen without conceding a run in 2.1 overs as Nepal bowled out Maldives, who elected to bat and put up only 16 runs from 10.1 overs.

Nepal’s Karuna Bhanari also scapled two wickets giving away just four runs, while other two batswomen were run out.

Eight of Maldives Batswomen were dismissed without even opening their account, while two made single-digit scores.

In response, Nepal chased the target in just five deliveries, reaching 17 for no loss.

The run chase lasted for just seven deliveries, of which five were licit.

After the game, Cricket Nepal took to twitter and wrote, "Nepal's Anjali Chanda bowling figure is best bowling figure in Women T20I surpassing Malaysian Mas Elysa's 6/3. Also best bowling in debut.

"Nepal's victory in 5 balls, however, is not the quickest victory as Rwanda and Tanzania had defeated Mali in 4 balls in July 2019."
