MSK Prasad opens up on MS Dhoni’s retirement

India’s chief selector MSK Prasad not long ago gave an update on the retirement plans of MS Dhoni.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has currently distanced himself from cricket, he was last seen during the semi final clash between Indian and New Zealand in ICC World Cup 2019. since then MS Dhoni made himeself unavailable for selection.


Simultaneously, there are some statements coming from the team management as well as selection committee that MS Dhoni is not an automatic selection and they are experimenting young talents at the moment to replace the former skipper.

Nevertheless, MSK Prasad has now come out and given an update on MS Dhoni’s cricketing career. Prasad stated that MS Dhoni didn’t talk anything with the selection committee up till now. But he stated that former skipper have some more choices to make a call on his career.

“Mahi has not announced any retirement plans. The options are wide open and Mahi will take a call. But, nobody can question him about his career or contribution to Indian cricket,” MSK Prasad said as quoted by Sportstar.

“The panel members, if we take away our professional responsibilities, are as big a fan of Dhoni as anyone. He has achieved everything under the sun, winning two World Cups, the Champions Trophy, No. 1 Test status,” Prasad added.
