Hardik Pandya hit Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot in a match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. This is not the first time that Hardik attempted a helicopter shot, also did it in a match against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede stadium.
When asked about Dhoni’s reaction, Hardik Pandya revealed that he liked it. “I never thought I would play the helicopter shot in a game. I've been practising that in the nets. I went to Dhoni's room and asked him if he liked my version of the helicopter shot. He said it was good," he said.
“I don't think I've ever hit the ball better. I have been working hard in the nets and it has been coming off well for me. I am reading the wicket well in this season. I have five more games to go and then the play-offs, and I hope to keep going like this through the season,” Hardik added.
Hardik will be travelling with the Indian contingent to England for the upcoming World Cup. Hardik Pandya was awarded the man of the match trophy for his quick-fire 32 runs off 15 balls. Mumbai Indians won the match by 40 runs. Along with Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Chahar played an important part in Mumbai’s win.
Mumbai Indians had a bad start but now they are comfortably sitting at number two on the points table. They are looking good to qualify for the play-offs. Mumbai Indians will play Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 20.
