MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis takes Chennai Super Kings to 160-3 in 20 overs

After winning the toss against Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings opted to bat first. Super Kings finished the first innings at 160-3 in 20 overs.

Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis opened the innings for Chennai Super Kings. Shane Watson was dismissed by skipper Ravichandran Ashwin for 24-ball 26, while Faf du Plessis went on to score a fantastic hal-century before he was dismissed by Ashwin for 38-ball 54. Faf du Plessis’ 54 run knock included 4 sixes and 2 fours.


Suresh Raina was also dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin for 20-ball 17 in the 14th over. MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu finished it for Chennai as they notched up a 60-run partnership together. MS Dhoni hit 23-ball 37, while Ambati Rayudu scored 15-ball 21.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the only bowler to take wickets for Kings XI Punjab as he scalped three in his 4 overs. Mohammed Shami was the most expensive bowler for them as he gave away 41 runs from 4 overs.
