Pakistans Mohammad Irfan on Sunday became the oldest fast bowler to represent his national side since Imran Khan in 1992. He accomplished the feat in the ongoing T20I against Australia in Sydney.
Currently, Irfan is 37 years of age, while Imran Khan was 39 when he featured for Pakistan in the World Cup in 1992. Overall Miran Bakhsh is the oldest cricketer to play for Pakistan as he played against India at the age of 45 in 1955.
In the match, the Aussies won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistan started on back foot as the side lost its opening two wickets for just ten runs.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan salvaged the innings for Pakistan as the duo created 60 runs stand. But as Pakistan started to get momentum on their side. Australia came back with the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan.
With Pakistan's score at 88/3 in the 13th over, the match had to be stopped due to rain.
