KXIP’s Sheldon Cottrell amazing response to little Indian girl who copied his salute celebration

Cricket has a huge fan following across the globe and Indians are super crazy not just for Indian players but for International players too. Many fans admire other country’s players for their game while some follow them for their particular style.

Sheldon Cottrell, the West Indies cricketer who is currently playing for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2020. The player is quite popular among youngsters and little fans not only because of his bowling skills but for his popular salute style.


He performs his salute celebration after taking a wicket and this style of Cottrell made him famous among cricket lovers, including kids.

Several videos of him performing salute went viral on social media. Recently, a little girl named Jiya also copied Sheldon’s salute style in a viral video.

Jiya’s cute video also sought Sheldon’s attention and he has recently apologized to her for not being able to see her video.

Sheldon wrote, “Sorry Jiya I couldn’t find this tweet earlier. Just wanted to say you light up my day.”

Apart from a good player, the 31-year-old player is also a good human being as he reminisced about the same family with whom he talked six months ago. The family is from Chennai, who was facing financial problems amid the COVID-19 lockdown. Jiya’s family is in the wedding business but due to coronavirus, no wedding took place.

Sheldon tweeted, “6 months ago you told me about the situation of your family working in Chennai in the wedding industry with no weddings. Forget cricket for a minute. I pray things are improving and if not – what can we do to support?”

This gesture of Sheldon has touched many Indians and he has been receiving several heart pouring wishes online.
