IPL 2021: The 13th edition of league indefinitely suspended, here's how Twitter reacted
The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing body on Tuesday announced the decision to put off the 13th edition of the cricket league due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the bio-bubble. The announcement came after SRH's wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha tested COVID positive along with Delhi Capitals' Amit Mishra.
The IPL organisers also put out an official statement saying that the safety of its players and staff is of prime importance.
"The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect," the statement read.

The IPL has been organising matches without any crowd every evening since 9th April regardless of India’s stretched health system being pushed to the brink by another major wave of the COVID pandemic.
Top players from around the world compete in the lucrative T20 tournament, which was forced by the pandemic to the United Arab Emirates in 2020.
The Indian cricket body said it would do “everything in its powers to arrange for the secure and safe passage of all the participants in IPL 2021."
