Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently on national duty leading his team in World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Virat Kohli led his team to a thumping victory in the first match against South Africa by 6 wickets. Virat Kohli has got into trouble after local municipal corporation imposed a fine over wasting drinking water.

The Gurugram municipal corporation has imposed a fine of Rs 500 on the Indian skipper as he was found guilty of wasting drinking water. Kohli’s domestic help was washing cars with drinking water when neighbours complained about the incident to the local municipal board.

The neighbours complained that a dozen cars, including a couple of SUVs, were being washed with drinking water outside Kohli’s Gurugram residence. The incident is being heavily criticised as Delhi NCR is facing a water shortage while the temperatures are soring at 45-degree celsius.

The officials informed that Kohli’s residence was not the only one wasting water, there were ten other houses which were found guilty of the same offence. The municipal corporation imposed fine on them as well. The municipal corporation commissioner has issued a warning saying that this kind of ignorance won’t be tolerated and will be dealt seriously in future.
