India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in the fifth and the last ODI of the 5 match series on 3 September as the men-in-blue claimed a decorated white-wash against the islanders.

Indian captain Virat Kohli led the Indian batting attack from the front as India sailed to victory. He smashed an unbeaten century (110*), which is his 30th ODI ton.

Sri Lanka managed to achieve a good start after dismissing Ajinkya Rahane (5) and Rohit Sharma (16), but Kohli kept the scorecard moving with ease.

In the list of most ODI centuries, Virat Kohli is now just behind cricket great Sachin Tendulkar (49). With 30 centuries in his bag, Kohli has now moved up to the second slot, which is jointly held by Australian former captain Ricky Ponting.

While Kohli achieved the feat in only 194 matches, Ponting took 375 matches to reach the milestone.

Here is a list of players with most hundreds in ODIs:

S Tendulkar: 49
R Ponting/ VIRAT KOHLI: 30
S Jayasuriya: 28
K Sangakkara/ H Amla: 25
AB de Villiers: 24
