India sealed a cleen sweep victory over Sri Lanka at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on 25th December. The 'men in blue' finished off in the style as the best finisher Mahendra Singh Dhoni played his winning shot in the end by six.

Dhoni on Sunday made an unbeaten innings against Sri Lanka and ended the innings with the last match of the T-20 Series. This shot by Dhoni once again revived memories of the 2011 World Cup final match.

India did not get a good start in this match though. Team India lost the wicket of Lokesh Rahul (4) on the total of 17. On the other hand, captain Rohit lost wicket on Dasun Shankar's delivery after scoring 27 runs. Young batsman Shreyas Iyer (30), with the help of Manish Pandey (32), carried the Indian innings well, but on a total score of 81 Iyer was run out in unfortunate manner.

There are some special memories associated with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni from this ground. The 2011 World Cup was played between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. At that time the team captain was Dhoni himself. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, India claimed the World Cup title after 28 years. In 1983, team India under the captaincy of Kapil Dev won the World Cup first time.

Dhoni was the hero of the 2011 World Cup. Dhoni's winning six helped India to lift the World Cup trophy. At that time, chasing 274 runs against Sri Lanka, India was under pressure after losing the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag and Kohli.

Then captain Dhoni decided to go before Yuvraj, and not only scored 91 runs in 79 balls, but also encouraged Gautam Gambhir in the middle of the batting to play long innings. Later Dhoni smashed a six to lift India the World Cup. Man of the Match Dhoni scored an unbeaten 91.
