The explosive Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed by Sri Lanka bowler Dilruwan Perera at the score of 23 for 35 balls in the third Test match. Dhawan was 100th victim of Perera in the longest format of the game. For reaching the landmark of 100th wickets in the Test cricket Perera was thankful to his teammate Suranga Lakmal, who was placed at the backward square leg. While chasing the ball hit by Shikhar Dhawan, Suranga even lost his shoe and lost his balance while running for the ball, yet the player went for Dhawan's catch.
Shikhar Dhawan, who just fell short by six runs to complete his 7th Test century in the 2nd Test match at the Nagpur, was in the brilliant mood before gifting his wicket to Sri Lanka bowler Perera. However, the Indian batter was smiling even after losing his wicket because of the efforts of Suranga Lakmal. Not just Dhawan, but the entire Sri Lankan team was laughing at the incident.

In the final Test match between India and Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla cricket stadium, Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first.
