The first match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Team India and Sri Lanka is being played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium ar Dharamsala. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first against India. From team India Shreyas Iyer is making his debut in ODI.

Virat Kohli has been rested for the one-day and Twenty-20 series with Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in his place. At the same time, Sri Lanka has given Thisara Perera the command of team in place of Upul Tharanga. In such a situation, the responsibility of winning both their captains on their shoulders is a big responsibility. Rohit will captain India for the first time, although he is the captain of the Mumbai Indians in IPL.

Talking about Team India's record at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, the 'men in blue' have won three ODIs and lost one in three one-day matches. In the one-day match played against New Zealand in 2016, Team India won by 6 wickets.

To stay on top, the Indian team will have to win in the next match on December 13 in Mohali and December 17 in Visakhapatnam. If India wins the ODI series 2-1, then their points will be 119.
