Sri Lanka’s Air Marshal Roshan Goonetileke’s security instructions for the upcoming tour of Pakistan may not have persuaded some senior cricketers to play there, but those who have given their consent to travel to Pakistan were very overwhelmed with his talks, as per the sources, who attended the briefing.

“The visiting team will be provided with a bullet proof buses. Security cars ahead and back of the team bus will be followed and the streets will be shut while the team leaves for the field and at the time of their return”.

“Around 8,500 security personels well be present at the teams hotel and at the field” the security expert said.

“Yes, players who have given a nod to travel and those who have refused , did put forth many questions”, the source added

The rundown was attended by SLC president Shami Silva, secritary Mohan De Silva and CEO Ashley de Silva.

The practice sessions of the visiting side will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium, Khettarama.

“The practice will be held at the High Performance Centre from 16th September for about six days,” the chief selector, Ashantha de Mel, stated.

The selectors have appointed Lahiru Thirimanne and Dasun Shanaka as skippers for the ODI and the T20I series.
