World Cup 2019 started with a bang when South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir picked up his first wicket off his second ball. Jonny Bairstow of England became the first victim of Imran Tahir when he edged the ball to wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock. Imran Tahir set off for his classic celebratory lap after the wicket.

This is a good start for Imran Tahir in an event as big as the World Cup. Imran Tahir carried his good form from the Indian Premier League where he took the purple cap with the highest number of wickets to his name.

The opening match of the World Cup is between the two teams who have never won the coveted trophy before. Host England would like to swing the momentum in their favour by winning the match as they are one of the favorites to win the trophy this year.
