England limited overs captain Eoin Morgan likened Jonny Bairstow and David Warner’s relationship to that of former Manchester United team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. Morgan credited the Indian Premier League for bridging the gap between players and rub shoulders with guys they never thought they would play with.

Warner and Bairstow have had their issues in the past during England’s Ashes tour of Australia in 2017-2018. There were talks about Bairstow head-butting Warner’s team-mate Cameron Bancroft in a pub in Perth and because of which there was fiery banter between both of them on the field. The talk was later played down and both of them went on to forge a great partnership for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner became the first pair in the history of IPL to register three consecutive century stand. They also registered their four back-to-back half-century partnership stand. Bairstow and Warner became the second pair in the IPL to score a century each in an innings, before them it was Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers who did it. Both of them also registered the highest first-wicket partnership of the Indian Premier League.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won their third consecutive match yesterday against Delhi Capitals in an away match. Jonny Bairstow’s quick fire 48 run knock helped Hyderabad win the match by 5 wickets and also gave him the man of the match award. Hyderabad will host Mumbai Indians on April 6 for a home match.
