Delhi Police Crime Branch busts betting racket during India-Australia final ODI, 11 arrested

Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a betting racket and apprehended 11 people from the location who had placed bets on the final ODI between India and Australia.

As specified by the Additional Commissioner of Police Crime Branch AK Singla, seven laptops and 70 mobile phones were recovered from those taken into custody. He further added that bets worth Rs 2 crores had been placed for the match that took place on Sunday.


The men in blue beat Australia by seven wickets in the third and final ODI, consequently winning the three match ODI series by 2-1.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma knocked a superlative ton (119) and captain Virat Kohli also chipped in 89 runs to chase down the target in 47.3 overs.

Team India had been defeated in the first match in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium by 10 wickets and being mindful of that, it was a great comeback win by the host in the remaining two matches.

Team India will now travel to New Zealand where they will take part in 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests.
