Australian cricketer David Warner won hearts again after he gifted a signed jersey to Indian origin net bowler Jaykishan Plaha. Jaykishan was hit on the head during a practice session where he was bowling to David Warner. David Warner played a down the ground shot that hit Jaykishan on June 8, during a net session before Australia’s match against India.

David Warner was visibly shaken up after the incident when Jaykishan was lying on the ground and Australian physio was taking a look. Jaykishan was then admitted to a local hospital and was conscious the whole time.

The official Twiter handle of Cricket World Cup shared a post which read, “Last week, Jaykishan Plaha was hit on the head by a David Warner drive during an Australia training session. Today, Warner met both Jaykishan and his mum before play, presented Jaykishan with an Australia shirt and wished him a speedy recovery.”

After the practice session, Australian skipper explained everything to the press. “Yeah, Dave was obviously pretty shaken up,” Finch said at the time. “It was a decent hit to the head. It was tough to watch. It’s quite rare that somebody gets hit, it’s really unfortunate. Our own medical staff and the paramedics on the ground did a great job,” Finch was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

Australia, however, lost the match against India by 36 runs despite practicing with Indian bowlers. Australia is playing against Sri Lanka in Kennington Oval today.
