The fifth match of the IPL season 11 that was held between the two- best, MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Dinesh Karthik's Kolkata Knight Riders at Chennai's Chidambaram Stadium. The Dinesh Karthik-led team KKR set a target of 203 runs for Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team CSKs'. The Lions roar and hunted their rival and won the match by 5 wickets. Sam Billings becomes the man-of-the-match title.

This match was one of the best matches of this season as both the team crushed their opponents and won their opening match. And in the fifth match, they came face to face with each other for the first time. Chris Lynn and Sunil Naraine came to open the innings and both took it on fourth gear and started the match by hitting four sixers. However, soon Sunil Naraine after hitting two sixes got out on Harbhajan Singh's bowling. Then Chris Lynn got out 22 runs on 16 balls.

Well, KKR's none of the batsmen stood for long in front of CSKs' bowler except Russell who scored fantastic unbeaten 88 runs from 36 balls. Russell hit 11 sixer shots beyond the boundary walls. While CSKs Sane Watson took the two crucial wickets of KKR's batsmen.

Talking about the marksmanship of the CSK's, all-rounder Shane Watson gave a good start to the team but unfortunately had to walk towards pavilion and scored 42 runs from 19 balls. He hit 3 sixers and 3 boundaries. Amabti Rayudu also played well but KKR's Kuldeep Jadhav didn't give him room to hit a shot and made him walk out, by making 39 runs from 26 balls.
