Zimbabwe batsmen Sean Williams and Craig Ervine have been ruled out of the 18-man squad for the three-match T20 series against touring Indian side starting June 18 at the Harare Sports Club, after suffering injuries during the preceding ODI series.
While Ervine injured his hamstring in the opening ODI, his replacement Williams fractured his finger at training soon after the toss in the second game, ESPNcricinfo reported.
Besides fast bowler Tinashe Panyangara, who was ruled out of the series with a back injury, Tendai Chisoro, Tawanda Mupariwa have been omitted from the squad.
Uncapped Tapiwa Mufudza earned a call-up to the national squad, while Brian Chari and Tinotenda Mutombodzi, who last played an international game in late 2015, were recalled.
A decent performance in the just-concluded ODI series has also helped all-rounder Chamu Chibhabha retain his place in the T20 series.
Zimbabwe will be aiming for better results in the T20 series after losing the three-match ODI series 3-0 to a second-string Indian side.
