The Indian Premier League 2019 has seen many last over finishes and last night was one of its kind. It was a thrilling final over in both the innings as it saw some exciting wickets falling down. But the 20th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings was one to remember as Amit Mishra became the second player in IPL history to be given out for obstructing the field.

The incident took place when Khaleel Ahmed was bowling and Delhi Capitals needed 5 runs off the over. Khaleel bowled his first ball which went for a wide and DC needed 4 runs for 6 balls. Amit Mishra was at strike and he missed the ball which went directly to the wicket-keeper. Mishra ran for a run and Wriddhiman Saha threw the ball at Khaleel but when he tried throwing it at the bowler’s end, Mishra changed his line and came in the way of wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad appealed but there was confusion among the umpires. Mishra was eventually giben out for obstructing the field. Yusuf Pathan was the first player in IPL history to do so. Pathan did it while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders against Pune Warriors in 2013.

Keemo Paul hit the 5th ball of the over for a boundary and Delhi Capitals won the match to reach second qualifier. Capitals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 2 wickets and the match was tightly fought, Rishabh Pant’s power hitting helped Capitals cross the line.
