The former skipper of South Africa, AB De Villiers offer to come out of international retirement for this World Cup 2019, but the South Africa team management on the eve of announcing their final squad announcement denied his request. De Villiers is believed to have contacted to South Africa's captain Faf du Plessis, head coach Ottis Gibson and convenor of selectors Linda Zondi, while expressing his desire to play the last world cup. According to media reports, the approach of De Villiers was not even considered.
