Why did Anurag Kashyap not let the lead actress dance in Raman Raghav 2.0?
After delivering a gritty thriller in the form of Ugly starring Ronit Roy, Anurag Kashyap is gearing up for the release of his next film Raman Raghav 2.0 starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal, and Sobhita Dhulipala in lead.
The film, which is based on the life of a serial killer residing in Mumbai in the 1960's, has a sequence in a night club featuring actors Vicky Kaushal and Sobhita Dhulipala. The actress, who is a trained dancer in Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam, was looking forward to showcase her dance moves in the song. However, director Anurag Kashyap did not give her an opportunity to do so since the script did not demand her character to dance.
Raman Raghav 2.0 marks the return of a collaboration between Kashyap and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who have worked together in Black Friday and the two-part crime saga Gangs of Wasseypur.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Raman Raghav 2.0 is a Phantom Film presentation and is all set to release on 24 June.
