Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons chronicles the lives of a family as they navigate their way around sensitive issues. The film, produced by Karan Johar, stars Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak in pivotal roles.

What may work for the film:

Kapoor and Sons tackles a few complex issues with maturity. The film is peppered with breezy moments and good music. And the screenplay is rather gripping in the first half.

The Shakun Batra directorial has a lot to offer in terms of performances with Fawad Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak and Rajat Kapoor standing out. Fawad Khan's track is a major highlight of the film.

What may not work for the film:

The second half of Kapoor and Sons seems to drag a bit, with some rather insignificant sequences. Alia Bhatt's half-baked song could have been completely avoided.

Will it do well at the Box Office?

Kapoor and Sons has a very urban appeal and will not find too many takers at the mass centres.

The film has a strong chance to do well at the metros and put up a good total in its lifetime run.

Box Office Prediction for Kapoor and Sons:

  • Opening Day (18 March): Rs 6.5 crore
  • Weekend (19-20 March): Rs 23 crore
  • Lifetime Collections: Rs 60 crore

Kapoor and Sons is expected to be a hit at the Box Office.
