Sarkar 3: Amitabh Bachchan returns as 'Sarkar' in Ram Gopal Varma Film

Just as the theatrical trailer of Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming film, Veerappan is earning plaudits from the industry as well as the audience, the director is gearing up for one of his most ambitious projects, Sarkar 3 with Amitabh Bachchan.

The iconic character of Sarkar Subhash Nagre, which was inspired by the larger than life character of the late Bal Thackerey, will now be placed in a completely different environment, with a different set of characters.

"Since it's a 10-year-old-franchise, it's a lot of work. We are keeping the essence of Sarkar intact but are working on updating the issues. Amitji will be styled pertinent to today's fashion trends," said Ram Gopal Varma.

The director also confirmed that the film will be shot in London and Mumbai.

However, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will not be a part of Sarkar 3.

"Abhishek's character died in the second film, Aishwarya too won't be a part of Sarkar 3. The film will focus on Sarkar's life with a completely new set of characters who were not a part of the earlier films."
