Salman Khan courted controversy on 21 June when he said that the physically-strenuous shooting for his upcoming wrestling drama, Sultan, made him feel "like a raped woman".
His father, veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan, took to Twitter to apologise for the remarks. He said that although what Salman said was completely wrong, his intention was not wrong.
"Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simile, example and the context. The intention was not wrong. Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans and his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all."
