Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 has witnessed good jumps in the collections over the weekend by raking in Rs 22.75 crore.

The film performed very well on its opening day, keeping in mind its lesser known star cast, modest budget and the fact that it released only on 1,400 screens.

The film recorded a jump of around 15% on Saturday. The upward trend continued into Sunday as well.

With its impressive weekend collections, the film has managed to exceed the lifetime collections of the 2011 hit Pyaar Ka Punchnama (Rs 12.5 crore) within just two days.

The film continued to perform well in Delhi and Punjab due to its local flavour. The Mumbai circuit too saw a good response

Day Wise Collections:

  • Friday: Rs 6.80 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 7.60 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 8.35 crore
  • Total: Rs 22.75 crore

The first part of the franchise was very successful at the box office and was screened at many centers for over 10 weeks. It would be interesting to see how Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 fares at the box office in the weekdays and weeks to follow.
