Several Bollywood stars attended the charity reception organised in honour of British Royal couple, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The reception on Sunday night at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai saw the creme de la creme of the film, sport and business society gather for an evening with the royal couple. The event also helped raise funds for organisations including Childline India, Magic Bus and Door Step School, India.
Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, who looked dapper in a tuxedo and a bow-tie, were the hosts for the evening. "The royal couple was so gracious and full of poise. Tonight as I said is the night of the King, the Queen and the Knights. Wish all nights were same," the actor tweeted.
Actress Madhuri Dixit also took to the microblogging platform to share her experience with meeting the royal couple. "It was a pleasure meeting their highnesses, William and Kate. Very gracious and down to earth," she tweeted.
Other attendees include Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Farhan Akhtar, Sophie Choudry, Arjun Kapoor, singer Kanika Kapoor among others.
Images of the event making the rounds on social media show that the event venue bedecked with marigolds.
During tour, the royal couple will also attend a lunch hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 12 April and visit the Kaziranga National Park in Assam. They will then leave for a trip to Bhutan before returning to India to visit the iconic Taj Mahal.
