Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo trailer out: Can it get any more 90s than this?

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP) trailer is out and everything about this trailer is just extravagant. Starring Salman Khan (in double role) and Sonam Kapoor, the trailer directly challenges Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus filmmaking techniques.

It starts with Salman Khan aka Prem declaring that 'he is back' in true Arnold Schwarzenegger style. In the background, what you hear are the constant vocals of the title song -- 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.' The video further shows huge palaces, courtrooms decorated with a month's supply of marigold, temples and lighted roads.

Adding to the visual interest is actress Sonam Kapoor, decked up in voluminous lehengas, sarees, jewellery and everything a would-be Indian royal bride is expected to adorn, she effortlessly prances about.

The trailer, however, not only shows a lot of action that the audience must be expecting, given that it was sold as an action film, but also is a grand 90s khichdi with all things larger than life.

What the trailer also lacks are the dialogues. There are almost no dialogues, barring two. One when Salman Khan says "Har family mein problem hai...par vo khushnaseeb hai...jinki family hoti hai" (every family has problems, but it's those who have a family that are truly blessed).

And the other one has Sonam Kapoor saying "Kabhi kabhi aisa lagta hai ki tum koi aur ho." (Sometimes I get the feeling that you are a different person).

However, Rajshri's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo trailer seems so beautiful that it makes you want to watch the film, at least once.
