Sajid Nadiadwala has announced the release date of David Dhawan's Judwaa 2.

The second installment of Salman Khan's 1997 superhit comic caper Judwaa stars Varun Dhawan in a double role for the first time in his career.

While many Salman Khan fans have opined that Varun may not be able to do justice to the film, the young actor took to Twitter to clarify that he was not replacing Salman Khan in the film. He tweeted:

"No one can replace @BeingSalmanKhan. This is a new story but by the same makers".

Judwaa 2 is expected to go on floors in January 2017.

Speculation is rife that the comedy will star Jacqueline Fernandez and Shraddha Kapoor as the female leads.

The film hits the big screen on 29 September 2017.
