Asha Bhosle Birthday Special: From bhajans to dance numbers and fusion music, Asha Tai proved that she is the queen of all music
Asha Bhosle, the most versatile singer in Bollywood industry, who is famous for her melodious voice. Asha performed her first song on a movie soundtrack when she was just 11 and then, she has given us the superhit numbers.
Having lots of trouble in her personal life, Asha never affected her professional career and surprised everyone with her versatility. She sung all the genre of music, be it bhajans, dance songs or the fusion music and proved that she is a ‘queen of songs.’
She made her Hindi film debut when she sang the song Saawan Aaya for Hansraj Behl's Chunariya (1948). While she sang her solo song in 1949 for the movie Raat Ki Raani.
Well, it was not so easy for Asha Bhosle to start singing, when knowing that her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar already an established singer.
However, it took time for her to achieve the success but she made it when she received several Filmfare Awards and 2 National Awards. From then, she becomes the superstar because of her magnificent and melodious voice and got several awards and also made a clean sweep at every award.
However, in 1979, she requested the award show organizers that not to nominate her for awards so as to give a chance to new singers. What a lovely gesture!
Talking about her personal life, she first married to Ganpatrao Bhosle, but their marriage was not proved to be successful and then, she found her love with RD Burman and they tied in a nuptial knot in 1980.
