Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar are all set to collaborate for Battle of Saragrahi. After making an official announcement of their film Kesari, Karan also declared release date of his next film Brahmastra, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Kesari is set to release on Holi 2019 and Brahmastra is slated to release on August 15, 2019.
A source says, “Akshay is known to release his films around Independence Day every year, last year his Rustom released on same day and this year Toilet-Ek Prem Katha too released on same day. He has already announced his upcoming film Gold will release on August 15, 2018. So it was speculated that Akshay’s film on Battle of Saragrahi will release on Independence Day in 2019. However, it looks like Karan has managed to convince Akshay to get Independence Day date for 2019 and in return gave him Holi date for Kesari.”
While casting for Kesari is yet to begin, there is a speculation that Diljit Dosanjh might feature in it. Interestingly Ajay Devgn and Randeep Hooda too are working on film which is based on Battle of Saragrahi. Ajay’s film is slated to film in same year 2019; shoot of Randeep’s film has been halted.
