Aishwarya Rai Bachchan takes Salman Khan's side in Rio Olympics controversy

Bollywood actor Salman Khan's appointment as India's goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics 2016, was met with a lot of flak from the public. While the Indian Olympic committee's decision to choose an actor rather than a sportsperson was criticised, the actor has been receiving support from unexpected sources.

After Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Katrina Kaif took his side in the row, now Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has also spoken in support of the committee's decision to appoint Salman.

The actress, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Sarbjit, attended the launch of a cosmetic product for the brand she endorses. While addressing the media, she answered a question about the entire hullabaloo around Salman's appointment and opined that he should be 'recognised.' She said:

"I have to say that anyone, who is doing good to represent the country or working or speaking or standing for the betterment of art, music or sports, is wonderful and the person needs to be recognised."

Earlier, at the wrap-up party of Baar Baar Dekho, Katrina Kaif had said that it's nothing new that another controversy is brewing around Salman Khan and his ventures.
