UP Police thrashes Dalit couple and allegedly strips them

In a bizarre incident a Dalit couple was allegedly stripped by the local police in Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar, and the issue has gone viral on the social media.

Reportedly Sunil Gautam was robbed by miscreants on 8 October night near Atta in Noida, following which he went to Dankaur police station for filing an FIR for the same, but was refused by the police.

On 9 October, Gautam along with his wife and child protested outside the police station, following which they were brutally thrashed and stripped by the police.

However, there's another version of the incident, the police is claiming that Gautam and his wife allegedly stripped themselves while protesting after the police refused to file their complaint.

The local police in the area have accused Sunil Gautam of being a regular 'blackmailer'. A senior Greater Noida police official said, "We received several complaints against Sunil Gautam by Dankaur's business community that he has been blackmailing them for a long time."

Reportedly, the Twitter handle of Government of Uttar Pradesh accused the Dalit couple of stripping themselves. However, authorities are yet to throw light on the incident and clarify the facts.
