Scary! Elephant walks close to railway track; see what happens next
A shocking footage of a tusker is going viral on social media in which it can be seen walking close to a track in North Bengal.
However, drivers were alerted about the presence of an elephant near the tracks, they immediately applied the brakes that slow down the speed of the train and saved the life of an elephant.
The footage was taken from the train which shows the tusker walking adjacent to the railway tracks.

Within a few seconds, the elephant eventually moves away from the track and goes back to the jungle as the train moves forward slowly.
The video of the incident was shared on Twitter of Alipurduar Division, NF Railway along with a caption, “While working 03150Dn KanchanKanya Exp spl at 17.45 hrs today, Alert LP Sri D.Dorai & ALP Sri P. Kumar noticed One Tusker adjacent to track at KM 72/1 between Nagrakata-Chalsa & applied Emergency brake to control the train & save it.”

The tweet also tagged the Ministry of Railways, Northeast Frontier Railway, and Wildlife Trust of India.

The viral video has now been watched over 3,700 times and netizens applauded the drivers for their presence of mind and timely response that saved the life of an elephant.
“Thumbs up for your responsibility.....it's our job also to protect environment,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Very well done. Heartfelt appreciation to this act of courage and compassion.”
