COVID patient requests hospital staff to replace ceiling fan

Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh: Amid the challenging second wave of coronavirus, a video of a COVID positive patient has surfaced on the Internet, in which he is requesting hospital authorities to change a ceiling fan. He claims that he is more afraid of the fan than coronavirus.

The video was recorded from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara hospital.


In the two-minute-and-17-second video, the man pans the camera and shows the hospital ward, including the ceiling fan hanging over his bed. The ceiling fan can be moving in an unsteadily way from side to side as it might fall soon.

The COVID patient can be heard saying that “Dosto, ye mai, ye Chhindwara zile ka sabse bada hospital me admit hoon. Ye dekhiye charon taraf ka scene kya hai.”

He even picked the popular dialogue from Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg, “Ye mere bed ke just upar me ek videshi pankha laga hai jise dekh dekh ke hi dar lag rahaa hai. Corona se dar nahi lagta sahab, is pankhe se lag raha hai.”

He further added that he couldn’t sleep as he fears that the fan might fall on him. Therefore, he has requested the hospital authorities to either replace the fan or get shifted his bed.

The patient also said that “the fan might kill him even before Corona does.”

Meanwhile, the video of the COVID patient is doing rounds on social media—WhatsApp and Twitter. Netizens are expressing their concern about the man and also requesting hospital authorities to fulfill his demand by replacing the fan.
