Lalu Yadav may come under EC scanner after casteist remark
Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's alleged casteist remark during campaigning for his son Tejaswi Yadav on 27 September may come under the Election Commission scanner, with the Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi saying that any casteist remark was a breach of EC guidelines.
"Casteist remark is a breach of the EC guidelines for polls, the EC deal with such matters under its legal framework," said Zaidi.
He said that the Election Commission would find out the details of the alleged casteist remarks by Lalu and take appropriate action.
The RJD supremo had described the crucial Assembly polls in Bihar as a direct fight between the backward castes and forward castes and given a call to Yadavas and other backward castes to rally behind the secular alliance to defeat the BJP-led NDA.
