Proud Moment! Gold-medallist sprinter Hima Das appointed as first youth ambassador of UNICEF India; see pics

It must be a proud moment for India as Asian Games gold-medallist Hima Das has been appointed as first youth brand ambassador of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) India.

This good news comes at the official Twitter handle of UNICEF India, where the organisation has captioned her picture as “Meet our Youth Ambassador, Hima Das! The Asian Games medallist is @UNICEF India's first ever youth ambassador as part of #WorldChildrensDay celebration. #GoBlue.”

 

 

Hima Das is extremely happy and said that she is honoured to chosen for the role. She also added that will hope to inspire more children to follow their dreams.

This Assamese girl had clinched a gold medal in Women’s 4 x 400 m Relay event at the 2018 Asian Games.

Das had also won a silver medal in Women’s 400 m race event, which she completed in 50.59 seconds.

UNICEF India works with central government to ensure that each child born in this country should get a good life which helps in giving a shape to his/her future in every aspect of life.
