Priyanka Gandhi: UP police 'manhandled' me

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday accused that the UP police personnel have strangulated and manhandled while was going on a party worker's two-wheeler.

"UP police stopped me while I was going to meet the family of Darapuri. A policewoman strangulated and manhandled me. They surrounded me while I was going on a party worker's two-wheeler, after which I walked to reach there," quoted news agency ANI.


 

Earlier, her car was stopped on her way while she was going to visit the family of Sadaf Jafar, who was arrested during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Speaking to reporters the Congress leader said, there was no point stopping us on road. It was not an issue of SPG but of UP police.

Later, she traveled on a two-wheeler, however, she was trolled by the internet users as she was not wearing a helmet while traveling on the motorcycle.

Earlier in the day, a man has breached the security of Priyanka Gandhi and rushed to meet her.

She attended the party program on the 135th Foundation Day of her Congress in UP's Lucknow. During the event, a man breached the Congress leader's security and reached on stage.

As per a video shared by news agency ANI, a man is seen rushing towards dias where top Congress leadership including Priyanka Gandhi is also seated.

However, the security personnel rush to Priyanka and prevented the man. Surprisingly, Priyanka Gandhi intervened and heard him out. Priyanka also shook her hand with the man. Later, he left the stage.
