Watch Video: The Beatles ‘Drive My Car’ to celebrate end of ban on Saudi women drivers

Saudi recently lifted the ban on women driving in the country and for the first time women were given licenses and allowed to drive by themselves. To celebrate this amazing feat, Berklee College of Music teamed up with PRI’s and made an interesting cover of the song The Beatles - 'Drive My Car.'

This is the rework of popular 1965 release The Beatles - 'Drive My Car.'The latest version has Arabic lyrics. The new cover was arranged by Palestinian cellist Naseem Alatrash and vocals of Nano Raies, a Syrian singer.

According to Berklee website, “The new version tells the story of a woman who’s in love with her newly granted freedom and feels that marriage and family can wait.” Translating the lyrics he wrote, “Baby, I can drive my car/Yes, I’m gonna be a star/Baby I can drive my car/And maybe I’ll love you.”
