A 52-year-old woman, Joy Smith from Coventry, England has claimed that she has "cured" herself of terminal cancer with cannabis oil.

She resorted to this treatment after she was said that she has just six weeks to live. She was diagnosed with inoperable stomach and bowel cancer in August 2016.

In desperate for a solution, Smith started taking cannabis-based tablets, alongside chemotherapy, after researching about a cancer patient in the US who recovered from marijuana oil.

f When asked how it felt after having the cannabis tablet, she said, "I felt drunk. Doctors and nurses around looked at me when I was trying to act normal. I couldn’t speak, my words just slurred out."

Then after one of her friends prepared cannabis oil from the resin produced by the cannabis plant.

For months then after she continued with cannabis oil whose main component of Cannabis oil is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

Since tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)  component is illegal in the UK and Ireland, she took it illegally.

According to the Department of Health  statement released recently, "Medical practitioners who wish to prescribe cannabis for medical use may apply to the Minister for Health for a licence to do so, where the course of cannabis treatment has been endorsed by a consultant who is responsible for the management of the patient and who is prepared to monitor the effects of the treatment over time."

To this date, only four individual patients have been granted by the Minister for Health.
