Syria Chemical Attack: WHO report states that 500 Douma people showed chemical attack symptoms
The World Health Organisation recently revealed that nearly 500 residents of Douma were poisoned due to the chemical attack that happened on Saturday. WHO report revealed that 43 people who died showed the symptoms of chemical exposure.
In a statement WHO said, "There were signs of severe irritation of mucous membranes, respiratory failure and disruption to central nervous systems of those exposed."
Nullifying this statement and calling it baseless Syrian ambassador to the UN in Geneva Edin Aala said, " The incident had been ‘staged’. Now international chemical weapons inspectors are demanding safe and unhindered passage to and from Douma to determine whether globally banned munitions were used."
Syrian ambassador to the UN Aala said Syria had formally invited WHO for investigating the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and they would be visiting Douma in a couple of days. While Trump and western allies are considering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
WHO also stated that some 70 people sheltered in basements in eastern Ghouta have also died. Besides, aid agencies deployed by UN in Syria are unable to access eastern Ghouta.
The report also revealed that trained 800 Syrian health workers have detected symptoms of chemical weapons exposure.
The UN high commissioner reacted to the report and stated that the world must know what happens on using chemical weapons.
